How Dopasi Foundation Helped Strengthen Community-Led Access to Shorter DR-TB Treatment in Pakistan

As a Fast Track the Cure partner, Dopasi Foundation strengthened awareness and access to shorter DR-TB treatment regimens across the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan regions of Pakistan through community outreach, digital engagement, healthcare worker training, patient support, and community-led monitoring.

Dopasi Foundation conducted more than 100 outreach and awareness sessions, directly engaged more than 3,200 people, and reached more than 163,000 additional people through digital campaigns. Further, they trained more than 500 healthcare workers and hundreds of community members on DR-TB and community monitoring systems. Their work led to more people receiving new, shorter DR-TB treatments. Dopasi referred 489 DR-TB patients to receive six-month all-oral treatment, and supported nearly 500 people through counseling, peer engagement, and patient support groupsโ€”driving improved treatment outcomes and experiences.

โ€œIf we can map every road, why canโ€™t we map a personโ€™s pathway to TB care?โ€
- Dr. Kinz Ul Eman, CEO of Dopasi Foundation

By combining treatment literacy, digital accountability tools, and survivor-centered support, Dopasi Foundation helped fast track new TB curesโ€”strengthening readiness and community networks to drive wider adoption of shorter, people-centered DR-TB care in Pakistan.
