Webinar: Meet the Fast Track the Cure 2.0 Partners

Fast Track the Cure held a webinar to kick off its next chapter, marking an exciting new era in the global effort to accelerate and expand access to shorter, more effective drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) treatments. Moderated by James Malar of the Stop TB Partnership, Fast Track the Cure 2.0 - From Awareness to Access: Communities Leading the Way brought together participants from around the world to hear from a newly expanded group of implementing partners.

“FTTC 2.0 will take our journey from awareness to action by driving community-led monitoring and demand for TB care by putting TB-affected communities at the center of it all.” – Akshaya Patil, Lead, Fast Track the Cure

These partners outlined their ambitious plans to advance the use of the BPaL/M regimens—hailed as one of the most successful TB treatments to date—and shared strategies for overcoming barriers to access, engaging and mobilizing communities, enhancing demand generation, and performing services like community-based monitoring. Sandeep Juneja, Senior Vice President of Market Access at TB Alliance, also shared updates on the global introduction of DR-TB treatments, emphasizing the pivotal role communities have played in driving uptake and impact of #6MonthsMax regimens.

A lively and wide-ranging Q&A session gave attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the new partners on key topics – from tools and technologies being used to support the rollout, to how Fast Track the Cure complements broader TB control efforts and global health goals. With renewed energy, an expanded coalition, and a clear path forward, Fast Track the Cure reaffirmed its commitment to making shorter, more effective DR-TB treatment a reality for all who need it.

“The BPaL regimen has made it possible that you can treat DR-TB in six months … So we need to engage private providers, we need to engage community providers, we need to engage our DS-TB units to start providing (DR-TB) service.” – Dr. Kinz Ul Eman, CEO of Dopasi Foundation
